Real. Natural. Food. - Coconut Hemp Banana "Cereal"

Being out in the middle of nowhere has me really loving simplicity, and appreciating natural, whole foods!

(or maybe it was too much donuts....too much donuts did that....)

Either way.... ;) 

Here is a beautiful whole-food breakfast you can enjoy to bring out your inner goddess (or god...or hippie :) all apply and bring me beautiful, happy feelings).


Coconut Hemp Banana "Cereal"

What you'll need:

  • 1 young Thai coconut
  • ~2 Tbsp hemp seeds
  • 1-2 bananas
  • a handful of walnuts
  • a sprinkle of cinnamon

What to do:

1. First, open up your coconut (I'll do a video tutorial on this soon), pour the coconut water into a bowl, and then scoop out your coconut meat. (I typically get more water than meat out of the young coconuts so I don't need to use ALL of the water for this recipe)

2.  Pour ~1/2 - 1 cup of coconut water into your blender (Vitamix or similar recommended) and add all of your coconut meat + 2 Tbsp of hemp seeds.  Blend until creamy.

3.  Slice your fresh, ripe bananas into a bowl, pour coconut hemp cream over the top, then sprinkle with crumbled walnut pieces and a dash of cinnamon!


And YES - if you can't find any young Thai coconuts, then just use a good, wholesome coconut milk instead, don't stress.  Real coconuts are a treat that I love though and they always make me feel amazing and grounded when I can use them! <3
